Privacy Policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
Short version: your songs and videos are processed inside your own browser. We never receive them. This page explains the small amount of data that does move around, and who gets it.
Your files stay on your device
When you drop a file into VocalRemover, the AI that separates the vocals runs on your computer or phone, in your browser. The file is not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else's. We cannot listen to it, copy it or keep it. Close the tab and it is gone.
What we do collect
- Basic visit data. Our host, Vercel, sees your IP address, browser and device type, and the page you asked for. This is normal for any website and is used to deliver the page and keep it secure.
- Anonymous traffic stats. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, countries, referrers and browsers. It sets no cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
- Ad data, if ads are on. See the next section and our Ads Policy.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address long enough to answer you.
There are no accounts and no sign-up, so we do not hold your name, password or payment details. We do not collect your file names, the contents of your files, or the results.
Other services your browser talks to
To do the separation, your browser downloads the tools it needs straight from these services:
- Hugging Face, for the AI model files.
- jsDelivr, for the runtime that executes the model.
- unpkg, for the converter used on video and some audio formats.
Because your browser connects to them directly, they can see your IP address and browser details, as with any download. They do not receive your files. Your browser may also store these downloads in its cache so the next run is faster. You can clear that any time in your browser settings.
Advertising
VocalRemover is free because of ads. When ads are active, they are served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or similar technology and your IP address to show and measure ads. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, personalised ads only run with your consent. We never give advertisers your files, because we do not have them.
Why we use data (legal bases)
- To run and secure the website and the tool: our legitimate interest, and necessary to give you the service.
- To understand which pages are used and fix what is broken: our legitimate interest.
- To show personalised ads and set advertising cookies: your consent, where the law asks for it.
- To answer your emails: our legitimate interest, or taking steps you asked for.
How long we keep it
Analytics are kept in aggregate form. Server logs are kept by Vercel for a short period under their own schedule. Emails to us are deleted when they are no longer needed. We do not keep anything about your files because we never get them.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers named on this page, and only what they need to do their job. We do not sell your personal data. If you are in California, see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
International transfers
Vercel and Google run servers in the United States and elsewhere. When data from the EU, UK or Switzerland is sent outside those regions, it relies on safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, object to how we use it, or take it with you. Details for EU and UK visitors are on the GDPR & EU rights page. Details for California are on the Do Not Sell or Share page. Or just email contact@example.com.
Children
VocalRemover is not aimed at children under 13 (or under 16 where your country sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page.
